北京钓鱼台国宾馆是中国国家领导人进行外事活动的重要场所，更是国家接待各国元首和重要客人的超星级宾馆。至今已接待1300余位外国总统、国王、政府首脑下榻，并成为党和国家领导人从事国务和外事活动的重要场所。
The Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing is an important place for Chinese leaders to conduct foreign affairs, and a super-star hotel for the country to receive heads of state and important guests. To date, it has hosted more than 1,300 foreign presidents, kings and heads of government, and has become an important venue for the Party and State leaders to conduct state and foreign affairs activities.
古钓鱼台是北京西郊著名的园林之一，因金章宗皇帝（公元1168年-1208年）在此筑台垂钓而得名，园区南北长约1公里，东西宽约0.5公里，总面积42万平方米，总建筑面积16.5万平方米，湖水面积5万平方米，迄今已有八百多年的历史。至清代，乾隆皇帝（西元1736年至1795年）敕命疏浚玉渊潭并在此兴建行宫，收为皇家园林。现代的国宾馆园区是由中华人民共和国政府于1958年至1959年在古钓鱼台风景区基础上扩大修建，用做来访国宾的下榻及会晤、会议场所。
The ancient Diaoyutai is one of the famous gardens in the western suburbs of Beijing, named after Emperor Jin Zhangzong (1168-1208 AD), who built a platform for fishing here. The park is about 1 km long from north to south and 0.5 km wide from east to west, with a total area of 420,000 square metres, a total construction area of 165,000 square metres and a lake area of 50,000 square metres. In the Qing Dynasty, the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795) ordered the dredging of Yuyuan Lake and the construction of a palace here, which was adopted as a royal garden. The modern State Guesthouse was built by the government of the People's Republic of China between 1958 and 1959 on the basis of the ancient Diaoyutai scenic area and was used as a place to stay, meet and conference with visiting guests.
